Kochi got its first metro line Inaugurated on 17th June 2017 by Narendra Modi officially launched the Kochi Metro, while President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the new line of the Bengaluru Metro around 7:30 pm. PM on the same day, Modi took a ride on the Kochi Metro from Palarivattom to Edapally. He was joined by other dignitaries including Kerala Governor P Sadasivam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu as well as E Sreedharan, popularly known as India’s ‘Metro Man’.
